End Of 2011 – Final Update
After a few days footering about with it the SEO finally seems to be working. I had to change the theme, change the code of the theme, and switch from Yoast’s SEO plugin to HeadSpace 2. Google still isn’t picking up the meta data as description, but I think with time it will start to update. All that’s left is to move some widgets and the site will be ready to face the new year.
My final theme has ended up as a modified version of the Twenty Eleven with added Side Bar theme supplied by Chris Aprea. This has allowed excerpts on the home page instead of lengthy blog posts, a sidebar on post pages, and the SEO plugin support I needed. Thanks for the starting point Chris 
In the new year I intend to update the site banner, possibly using multiple interchangeable banners depending on the post type. The issue I will have here will be ensuring that no matter what banner is in use it upholds the feel of the site properly. After that I want to make a series of icons to use when reviewing products (10/10, 5/10, etc. ) I also want to develop a set of specific criteria to use when reviewing in order to create a consistent review structure.
Other planned developments for the new year are an ongoing series of short, entertaining articles about weird things from around the world – no set topic so it will always be something interesting. I will be putting together more videos, such as here and here, regarding the creation of artwork. Hopefully I will be able to add audio at some point, but it is likely a while off yet. I will, however, be putting together full written tutorials to accompany some of the videos and images to give a complete start to finish tutorial on how I created the images. Finally, I would really like to start putting some micro stories on the site whenever possible over the new year – possibly even illustrated ones.
It will be a big year for this site, which should see it grow to become a one stop shop for those seeking a taste of the Uncanny. May there be many strange days ahead.
